SUNSET LAKES BOARD OF DIRECTORS
MEETING MINUTES
September 22, 2009
7:pm at the Moose Lodge
CALL TO ORDER: The
meeting was called to order at 7:05 pm.
VERIFY QUORUM: Chris
Gerace, Mathew Long, Ed Schaffer and Lee Tibbits were all present establishing
a quorum. Gina McDonald was absent. Van Moore of APM was also in attendance.
Approval of Minutes (June
24, 2009): Ed Schaffer made a motion to accept the minutes with changes
as written Mathew Long seconded the motion and all were in favor.
Committee Reports:
Treasurer; Lee Tibbits motioned
to accept the financials and Ed seconded, and ALL
were in favor. All information
on the following was given by Mathew Long and Van Moore. A Report on Finances;
Outstanding Dues; and Liens/Foreclosures.
ARC: A review of Aluminum
Rail fencing on water front was discussed from an owner who wanted to put
up a 6’ high fence all the way around the rear of the property. Regardless
the fence would not obstruct the view of the adjoining neighbors it would
be against what has been allowed as a set standard. The Board and the ARC
agreed to allow the fence so long as it does not exceed 4’ in height.
OLD BUSINESS
Opportunities:
1. Weir cleaning: Aquatic
Systems is doing this along with APM staff.
2. Cost of replacing streets
to adjust road reserve: Jeff Freehill met w/APM to get estimates for roads.
We should get another 10 yrs. of life out of them which will allow enough
money to be saved for replacement. Jeff Freehill will provide a bid for
resurfacing the roads for budget purposes.

NEW BUSINESS:
1. Lawn Service Contract:
the board reviewed the 9 bids provided. Mathew motioned and Ed seconded
all in Favor for M&M Curbing and Landscaping.
2. Spending on Landscaping:
The Board will allocate money for 2010.
3. Gazette Printing and Advertisers:
We broke even on cost.
4. Dog Park/Size/Cost/Who
Pays: APM got a cost for a 100’x 200’chain link fence from American Fence.
The estimate was about $9K.
5. Setting a fine Schedule:
Ed motioned to pass a fine of $15 per day Mathew seconded and all were
in favor.
6. Next Meeting: October
15th 2009 pending everyone’s schedule.
